So, I wound up working my regular shift (9am - 8pm) on Thanksgiving and have been trying to keep busy most of the day. There have been spikes of activity throughout the day, but for the most part it's been extremely slow. No...I am not complaining. I like it when things are slow and steady. It gives me a chance to talk to coworkers and get to know them better.
Today was one of those days. I have been pleasantly passing the time with Steve and learning that he and I have several things in common: One of his hobbies is photography; I have seen him reading at least 2 books that I have read myself; and we've been bantering a few "Hitchhikers" quotes around today, which was surprisingly satisfying.
So I have to say that it's a fortunate circumstance that I worked today. But there's more: Triple Time pay! (ChaCHING!) Oh, and the company catered a very nice Turkey Dinner from Boston Market again this year. In fact...I gotta go. There's some stuffing and turkey breast with my name on it!
