About Me

My photo
I live in Phoenix AZ, and have been working at the cable company since 1989, (I'll let you do the math...it depresses me too much!). I have a dog and a drum set at home that I play with/on regularly. Oh...and a computer. Duh... I shoot all Canon gear. Currently the 40D. I mainly focus on Glamour/Beauty/Artistic Nude photography, but I also love Event & Street photography!

The Class of 1984 Reunion

It finally happened. It's official. I can stop holding my breath now...(insert heavy exhaling sound here) I have attended my 20 year High School Reunion!
I can clearly remember times back in HS when I would think about what my future would be in the year 2000. I mean, I did the math and figured out that I would be 34 years old when the new millennium arrived, although to be honest, I never once thought of the year 2000 as a "New Millennium". And even though I knew what my age would be, I had no idea what it MEANT to be 34...and now, I am 38 and creeping up on the Big Four Oh! There are many things that happened to me in the last 20 years that are not surprising. At least not to me. And many other things that I would never have guessed would have happened. Isn't that just the way life is...?
There were about 60-70 people from my graduating class in attendance. That's not a lot considering there were 400 students in that class! But still, a nice amount for the event. Enough to make it worth while in going. Getting to see a few people that I had forgotten I even knew, and make small talk conversation with them was pleasant. And bugging everyone with my camera was fun for me as well! If anyone is interested in seeing the pics, you can view them here.
So...now that this is out of the way, I suppose this would be a good time in my life to focus on my future and not my past. The timing is interesting on that count as my employers benefits package open enrollment is coming up in the coming weeks and that is exactly what I have to focus on: The Future. Making decisions that will have to last me for the entire year and may effect my financial health as well as my physical well being can be a tad stressful. Good thing I have an EAP plan to help with the Stress!!

Organizing my room is Step One

My bedroom, for those of you who have never seen it, which I presume is most of you, is a mess.
There are piles of mail, loose papers along with old stacks of books and magazines covering every surface such as my drafting table, a 3 shelf unit, a night stand, oh, and fully half of my king size bed. It's a mess! So, in an effort to take control of this situation, I bought a 5 shelf bookcase from Wal-Mart and spent several hours last night trying to get rid of the unwanted, undeeded clutter. hhmm...this task is harder than I would think it should be. You see, my problem in tackling this task is that I am easily distracted by the very things I am trying to clean up! The books and magazines all call to me as I pick them up and consider thier worth/value to me. Not to mention trying to determine how best to organize the clutter! I mean, the diversity of topics of these books is, to me rather significant. There is a big book from Home Depot for home repair. There are many books dealing with Real Estate Investing, sales and negotiation. Well, you get the point.
After the books, there is still a pile of mail and other debris hanging out and accumulating that must be stopped! If only I could afford a personal assistant, then all of this could be relegated to someone else and I would be free to stand back and criticize from a distance!
Ah, well. These are the things that occupy my mind while I should be thinking of other matters...like what am I going to have for lunch today?

Time Passes...

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since my last post here. So much has stayed the same in my life that I don't know where to start...
Here are some interesting tidbits of Steve Trivia. I saw 2 movies 2 nights in a row this past week. The first one was Shaun of the Dead. THAT was a riot! I am not a big fan of horror movies, but this was really great! As the poster says, it's a Romance...with Zombies! If you like to laugh, I recomend this one!

The 2nd film was The Forgotten with Julianne Moore. This film was definately NOT funny. But then, it wasn't trying to be, so on that count, they succeeded. However, IMO they failed on just about every other point (Except the actual performances. They were all fine). But on the whole, I would say wait for this one on DVD. It really just wasn't as compelling as I was hoping for. Those of you who know me, know that I really hate to talk about the details of a movie with anyone who hasn't seen it, so I won't get into the plot here. Just suffice it to say that this film doesn't break any new ground. BUT if you are a fan of any of the principle cast memebers, you may enjoy it for their performances.

One of the MOST enjoyable things I did this weekend was attend the Oktoberfest at the Tempe Town Lake. Now, since we went on the last day, things were not as "happening" as I was told they were on friday and saturday, but all in all, the atmosphere was nice, the weather was fantastic, the company was wonderful (thank you Tiffany and Craig for the invite!) and we just had a good time!

So...that's all for now. I will post the pics from Oktoberfest and get a link to them from here later on. At the moment, I am heading off to bed!
